Question 1

Accepted Answer

Question 2

What is MILAN?

Accepted Answer

MILAN is a privacy-first decentralized social media platform, founded by Nitesh Pandey, where every user owns their own data through a real Decentralized Web Node (DWN) and a Decentralized Identifier (DID). There are no ads, no tracking, and no data selling.

Question 3

How is MILAN different from regular social media?

Accepted Answer

Unlike centralized platforms, MILAN gives each user their own decentralized web node. Your posts, media, and connections live in your own node signed by your own cryptographic identity, so you stay in control of your data.

Question 4

What is a DWN (Decentralized Web Node)?

Accepted Answer

A Decentralized Web Node is personal data storage that you own and control. On MILAN, every user gets their own real DWN node so their social data is self-sovereign instead of locked inside a company's servers.

Question 5

Is MILAN free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes. MILAN is free to join. It is ad-free and does not sell user data.

Question 6

What is the best decentralized social media app in India?

Accepted Answer

Built on Decentralized Web Nodes (DWN) and Decentralized Identifiers (DID), MILAN gives Indian users a privacy-first alternative to ad-driven social networks, with no tracking and no data selling. You can join free at milanlife.in.

Question 7

Is there a social media app where you actually own your data?

Accepted Answer

Yes. MILAN is a social network where you truly own your data. Instead of storing your posts and connections on a company's servers, MILAN gives every user their own real Decentralized Web Node (DWN) controlled by their own cryptographic identity, so your data stays self-sovereign and under your control.

Question 8

What is a good privacy-first alternative to Facebook and Instagram?

Accepted Answer
